Inspired by Grandma (Jajja) Margaret’s tonic recipes and her mission to spread health and wellness throughout Uganda, Jajja Wellness seeks to inspire people to consume wellness products to help them lead a healthy lifestyle wherever in the world they may call home.

What does Jajja mean?
In Uganda, Jajja means grandparent; an elder, with wisdom and life experiences to be respected and revered.
Do you use any artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives?
Nope! We listen to our customers and also try to be the most up-to-date on health and wellness. We know that some things added to our food are just not that good for you – actually, some things can be really harmful to our health. We only put the best, most health-building ingredients in our tonics.
These taste so good, are they natural?
Yes, we use only natural ingredients, untampered by added colors, synthetic flavors, and unnatural preservatives.
When did Jajja launch?
In 2016, Jajja was founded by Henry Kisitu, an entrepreneur and the grandson of Jajja Margaret Lutaaya. Before Henry left Uganda to come to the United States on a college scholarship, he talked at length with Jajja about her juice company and how to grow it. When Jajja passed in 2016, Henry was living in Honolulu, Hawaii, and he decided he needed to continue her legacy, so he started his business the very next day.
“ The idea came back to me after my grandma passed away in November 2016. Around that same time, my best friend was visiting and fell sick. I made him one of Jajja’s tonics, and within a day or two he was better. I told him I was going to put the tonics in bottles and start sharing them. And, at that point, the idea was re-born. I sold at various markets throughout the island of Oahu, and was blessed to grow my company. Now, in Minnesota, Jajja is steadily growing with the help of BSM Equities.”
